Back on October 1st, Nadine Price of Pittsfield, VT planned to go hiking in the green mountains surrounding Killington when her afternoon plans became trapped inside a gondola car. She boarded gondola at 3:15 but unfortunately for Price, bad weather caused the gondola to shut down over an hour earlier than usual, leaving her stranded in a gondola car just a few hundred feet from the top terminal. Lift attendees had reportedly not seen her board the gondola and thinking the gondola was empty, shut down for the day due to variable weather.
The attorney representing Price showed that his client had suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following the event. The jury ruled in favor of the victim, ultimately granting Price $750,000 in damages.
