While mom and pop ski hills are neglected and left to waste as premier ski resorts exert regional dominance by capturing real estate opportunities and destination skiers, Snow King Mountain Resort is staying relevant.

According to Wyoming Public Radio, Snow King is working on the second phase of a USFS Masterplan that includes adding a cable car that will bring 1,500 skiers and snowboarders an hour to the summit of Snow King. Once on the summit, guests will have the option to eat at multiple restaurants with views of the Tetons, Jackson, and nearby JHMR.
“We’re really hoping that this plan can create a long-term, successful, sustainable, and small community ski resort that can stay alive in an era when small ski resorts really struggle to survive.” –Â Ryan Stanley, Snow King Mountain Resort General Manager
In addition to the gondola, resort officials are hoping to expand the boundaries on both ends of the resorts, while also adding a new chairlift to access a downhill bike park.
Phase 2 Improvements
- Summit Gondola
