Jackson, Wyoming’s local ski area, Snow King Mountain Resort will be getting $9 million in upgrades this summer. Following years of uncertainty about the future of the resort, Snow King has a plan in place to improve upon its winter operations. These improvements represent the largest capital investment Snow King has ever seen.
Improvements
- New Quad Chairlift: Replacement of the thirty-five year old Rafferty ski lift with a new Doppelmayr fixed grip quad chairlift. The new quad will be extended 1,000 feet and realigned in order to provide access to two new beginner and intermediate ski runs. (Opening: mid-June)
- New Base Lodge: Snow King is also in the process of building a new base lodge on private land. (Opening: December)
- Snowmaking and Lights: Last year the local Jackson ski area added $4 million in snowmaking and lighting systems for their night skiing.
- Mountain Coaster & Aerial Adventure Course: Snow King will be adding to the tread of mountain resorts that have looked to expand their summer operations by building a mountain coaster and an aerial adventure course. (Opening: August)
