Even after referring to climate change as a “hoax,” a report by the New York Daily News shows that Donald Trump gave $5,000 bucks to the climate advocacy group, Protect Our Winters in 2014.

Called POW for short, Protect Our Winters is a group of like-minded skiers, snowboarders, and winter recreationists who all believe climate change to be very real both in its existence and consequences. The group was originally formed to affect positive legislation that promotes green energy and sustainable solutions to the problem of human caused climate change.

“The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”- Donald Trump Tweet (2012)

The donation was the result of Olympic Gold Medalist and snowboarder Jamie Anderson appearing on Trump’s show, The Apprentice.” While she was ultimately fired, Anderson asked Trump to donate to her charity of choice, which just so happens to be POW.

“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, and sea level has risen.”– Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Ultimately, the Climate Change denier donated to the group and tax records show that it was in the amount of $5k dollars even though he has vehemently denied Climate Change’s existence in previous years.

"The work of grassroots activism can be lonely and tiring. This book will remind you that you are not alone in your fight. Every campaign, every action, every step forward – no matter who or where you are – moves with the grace and power of humanity fighting for our best selves in the places we call home." – @markruffalo We had the honor of attending the @patagonia Tools for Grassroots Activists Conference in 2013, where we were able to learn from the experts on how to be more effective activists. Now, anyone has the opportunity to gain this same valuable insight through their new book, Tools for Grassroots Activists. A big thanks to Patagonia for the stewardship, ongoing partnership, and for including us in your book. ✌️ For those interested, you can find the book through the link in our profile.
