Bloomberg on Telluride based Wagner Skis. Pete Wagner was a successful engineer and programmer based in San Diego working on technology that improved golf club performance but the call of the mountains took him from the security of his job in SoCal to the mountains of Colorado on a journey to create custom skis that could be ridden in all terrains and conditions. Wagner sought to create a product that “Can be skied at a high level 80 percent or 90 percent of the time.” While some of us swear by our quiver, Wagner Skis’ objective is to produce custom one off skis designed specifically to the customers parameters that allow for a larger sweet spot than most commercially available equipment.
