Wolf Creek, here we go again.

As of this morning, a Winter Storm Watch was issued for Wolf Creek and Independence Passes along with a few other locales scattered throughout southern Colorado and the Sawatch mountains. Right now Wolf Creek

The storm is projected to favor Wolf Creek Ski Area!

The fast moving storm is currently projected to bring significant accumulation, which will be accompanied by strong winds on Tuesday evening.  The advisory is calling for up to 8” with 13” possible in select locations!

THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PUEBLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WATCH…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* LOCATION…WESTERN MOSQUITO RANGE AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY ABOVE
11000 FEET…THE EASTERN SAWATCH MOUNTAINS ABOVE 11000
FEET…WESTERN CHAFFEE COUNTY BETWEEN 9000 AND 11000 FEET…THE
LA GARITA MOUNTAINS ABOVE 10000 FEET…THE EASTERN SAN JUAN
MOUNTAINS ABOVE 10000 FEET AND PIKES PEAK ABOVE 11000 FEET.

* CAUSE AND TIMING…A DEVELOPING STORM SYSTEM PROJECTED TO MOVE
ACROSS COLORADO WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SNOW…HEAVY AT
TIMES AS WELL AS GUSTY WINDS…TO LOCATIONS IN THE WINTER STORM
WATCH…ESPECIALLY FROM TUESDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY
MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION…TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN EXCESS OF 8
INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS EVENT.

* WIND…WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 30 MPH WITH WIND GUSTS IN
EXCESS OF 45 MPH AT TIMES.

* IMPACT…SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW AT TIMES IS EXPECTED TO CREATE
HAZARDOUS WEATHER AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
