This incredible scene took place Monday 10/19/15 as a massive portion of the Rocher du Mel de la Niva broke free high in the Swiss Alps. The 2000 cubic meter (or 70629.33 cubic foot) section slid 1000 meters downhill tearing a trench through the forest bellow. The area was being studied by geologist that predicted the event and a nearby town had been evacuated and a valley road was closed.
