Just over an hour from midtown Manhattan, Mt. Peter is one of three ski areas that claims close proximity to the Big Apple.
Ski and Ride Mt. Peter
Originally founded in 1936, Mt. Peter was created by Macy’s as a place to test new ski fashion items on the slopes of this southern New York ski resort. Nowadays, the ski resort no longer serves as a corporate marketing scheme but instead operates as New York’s go-to for a homegrown and family friendly ski resort experience.
Also, this year marks the 80 year anniversary of Mt. Peter so in order to commemorate this small but historic ski area, we’re shouting out this local hill which as served as a lynchpin in ski culture for New York state.
