Just when we thought Aspen couldn’t get any ritzier, the Aspen Skiing Company goes ahead and hires former Louis Vuitton designer Takashi Murakami to design lift tickets for the upcoming ski season.

The Colorado ski company hopes the new lift tickets will transform an accessory that was once the “mark of a gaper” into a fashion statement that belongs on the runways of Italy and France. The design will be released later this year.

In addition to making Paris Hilton feel even more fashionable on the slopes, the subsequent design will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Aspen Skiing Company’s partnership with the Aspen Art Museum, which has resulted in several installations around the mountain over the past decade.
