After speculation that Bode Miller might make a partial return to the 2015/2016 Word Cup circuit, Bloodhorse.com is reporting that the U.S’s most decorated Olympic skier is taking a full year off.

So what is Bode planning on doing with all that off time?

First and foremost, the Olympian has a newborn and will be elbow deep in baby diapers… as well as horse manure.

That’s right, Miller, who has been outspoken about training race horses, just purchased a barn for that exact reason in Elkton, Maryland. In an interview with Bloodhorse.com. Bode said he is planning on using the site for a new way to train race bound throroughbreds.

“It’s basically implementing sport science and the lessons we’ve learned in training for human sports over the last 50 or 60 years,” said Bode.

In the meantime ski racing fans will have to wait to see if Bode goes full send into horse racing or comes back to the Downhill course for the season after next. Let’s hope it’s the latter.
