Ever wonder how skis are made? Tonight, Meier Skis will be on the TV series “How It’s Made“, the documentary format series shows the background and manufacturing process for a variety of products.

Meier Skis was founded in 2009 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The company builds handcraft skis from eco-friendly materials instead of relying on automated machinery and products that are harmful to the environment. The company’s skis are made out of locally harvested Colorado Aspen and Pine Beetle kill wood. They are topped with clear sheets so buyers can actually see the wood.

“How It’s Made” on ScienceChannel.com has this to say about tonights show, “Watch as craftsmen shape wood into custom shapes and work to finish them off into shiny skis.”

The “How It’s Made” episode featuring Meier Skis will air at 7 p.m. tonight.
