UPDATE: Michael Schumacher Health Condition

Nearly a year and a half after Michael Schumacher’s ski accident in the French Alps, the Formula 1 champion’s recovery is going “painfully slow”.

Schumacher received a serious injury to the head during a skiing accident while skiing off-piste with his family in Meribel, in the French Alps, in December 2013. As a result of his injuries he was place in a medically induced coma for several months.

Today, Michael is at home where his wife had a $16 million medical suite built to aid in his recovery. He is receiving round-the-clock care from some of the best medical practitioners money can buy. Express reports that he still requires 24/7 care by a medical team of 15.

According to the Express’s anonymous source, the Formula One champion has “limited awareness” of his surroundings, and is still not able to walk or speak.

“There is no miracle on the horizon,” the insider said.

On a lighter note, Schumacher’s son Mick enjoyed his own racing track success, winning his first Formula Four race in Germany.
