Reports are coming in that Formula One icon Michael Schumacher suffered a brain hemorrhage and is in critical condition in a French hospital after a skiing accident in the French Alps. Schumacher was skiing in the French resort of Meribel where the 44 year-old owns a chalet when he suffered a head injury.
The status of his injury has yet to be officially announced but he was wearing a helmet when he fell and hit a rock. The legendary driver and ski enthusiast was conscious when taken to Grenoble Hospital, according to RMC.
French television station BFMTV and local paper Le Dauphine Libere has reported that the condition of the seven-times F1 champion had deteriorated from serious to critical.
