Downhill racing is tired and play out so the Austrians decided to spice it up and run their races in reverse….start at the bottom and finish up top.  All jokes aside this seems like an extremely grueling discipline and these guys deserve credit for this masochistic brand of alpine competition. The race runs from Salzburg Square in the heart of Kaprun to the observation deck “Top of Salzburg” (9937ft elevation) just below the summit of Kitzsteinhorn. The race is 17km/10.5miles with a healthy 8202 ft climb. 

The outfits alone are worth the price of admission….
