Tromsø, Norway – Footage of a 500 meters wide avalanche, that struck in Northern Norway, has been posted to the Norwgien News site vg.no. The footage shows what looks to be an entire hillside giving way as a skier made his way down the steep slope. The crown of the avalanche was reported to be 3 – 4 meters high. Stig Andre Haug ( 34 ) filmed the skier who triggered the large avalanche on Riksgränsen Sunday morning.
Haug told vg.no that, “We feared the worst. It was an incredibly large landslide. But when we arrived, they first came clear to release the head. The person who first found him , a Swede , did a fantastic job . We helped dig him out. It took only a few minutes before he stood on its own feet.”
