So far this season 3 people have died on the worlds highest mountain. All three of the deaths have been local Sherpas who have been assisting “tourists” up the mountain.
Death #1 – A 22-year old Sherpa fell while descending the mountain. He had been hauling tents and equipment up the mountain for a Chinese expedition.
Death #2 – A Sherpa in his 40’s fell to his death.
Death #3 – A Sherpa in his 40’s died of a hart attack at Camp 3.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the first successful ascent of Everest.
