The Freeskiing World Tour and Freeride World Tour have officially released the full line up of events for the 2013 Comp season. As a long time competitor and fan I have to say that I am stoked with the new format and that I am truly excited to see how everyone does this season. There have been some very significant changes to how the game works for the upcoming season and I think that overall these changes are going to help the boys and girls of Freeskiing and Freeriding get more exposure worldwide. 2013 Combined Freeskiing World Tour Dates Announced` | Unofficial Networks

Here is the new deal as I understand it:

There will be 6 premier, Five Star, Events:

Revelstoke, BC – Jan  7th, 2013

Courmayeur-Mont-Blanc, Italy – Jan. 19, 2013

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France – Jan 26, 2013

 Kirkwood, California – Feb 27, 2013

Fieberbrunn Pillerseetal, Austria March 9, 2013

And the Big Dog:

Swatch Verbier Xtreme 2013 by The North Face, Switzerland March 23, 2012

The atletes for these five star events have already been selected based on points earned last year on the Freeride World Qualifier Tour, The Freeskiing World Tour, Freeride World Tour and The North Face Masters on Snowboarding. A few Wild Cards will be sprinkled in at each event to keep things spicy.  Check out the riders who are in for this season!

Big Shout out to Snowbird locals Oakley White-Allan, Angel Collinson, Laura Dewey and Shannan Yates, as well as to everyone else from the Freeskiing World Tour that is stepping up to the bigger stage this year!

The only way to earn your way onto the Five Star tour is to fight hard all season at Freeride World Qualifier events around the world. Each of these events will have a star classification that determines the amount of points that can be earned at that event. More stars equals a bigger/tougher event and therefore earns an athlete more points Check out how the points work here. The locations, dates and stars for these event has also just been announced. They are as follows:
