Ski Boot Yoga
That feeling of prematurely waking on a Sunday morning to work is one of the biggest buzz kills of all time. This past Sunday was no exception. I’m not going to lie to you, I didn’t feel that hot. The last thing I wanted to do was a photo favor for a friend. I couldn’t really see straight. But, a man sticks to his word and my word was to meet my friend Jenna at 10am at Squaw Valley for a few yoga photos. There are only a few things that can really cure a solid hangover. I think I may have found the cure.
My first question when I saw Jenna in the lot was, “What is this for again?” The deal is that the Moonshine Ink is doing a Wanderlust ticket giveaway. Jenna and Julie wanted to win and thought that me taking a solid yoga shot may indeed propel them toward victory. Secondly, they thought that some Squaw Valley spirit and a little skin may secure success.
The ladies grabbed their skis & boots and we started hiking around the mountain. It was at that moment I realized how great of a job I have. The sweatshirts came off, the yoga clothes went on and low and behold I was photographing two beautiful women stretching. It’s funny how quickly my laughs fought away my hangover. It’s also funny to watch people not only hiking with ski and boots when there is no snow, but also watching them try to climb onto a quad chair with their boots on and try to do yoga. I’m not sure that ski boots and yoga work that well together. Needless to say there wasn’t a whole lot of room on the chair. A six-pack like Shirley Lake or Headwall may have secured more space.
“What’s more thrilling than busting out yoga poses on top of the Squaw One lift tower? Scissoring with Julia to get the angle just right!”- Jenna Minnes
