Snowbird ski resort will install a highly controversial roller coaster on its mountain. The Salt Lake County Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve the “mountain coaster” last Wednesday. Snowbird already has summer rides including: “the Alpine Slide, Mountain Flyer, Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, Kids’ Inflatables, Bungy Trampolines and Mechanical Bull will all open June 8th,” said The Ski Channel.

This approval is contingent on the full details of the roller coaster plans being finalized, but you can be sure that they’ll approve it all the way through. Final designs and installation timelines will be available in fall 2013.
