May 11th might be the only time you smile when shoveling snow... Alyeska, AK

The recent monster storm created high enough avalanche danger to close the resort today.  They are going to re-evaluate things tomorrow and try to get open the next two days.

“Alyeska Ski Resort is closed to skiing & riding today, Friday May 11th due to high avalanche spring conditions. We will evaluate today to see about opening for Saturday & Sunday. Please stay tuned.” – Alyeska ski resort
