Its hard to describe a sound. Even harder to describe the sound of skiing today on Blackcomb. But I will try: Crunch, grind and slap come into mind first, then fizz. Yes fizz -as you would edge- the top layer of frozen snow would bounce around your boots creating a fizzing sensation (not peasant).
It was very windy up there:
Extremely firm was the snow above the base of Solar Coaster. The park = not good, even in late afternoon. After a few laps and one jump where I came up short and re-broke my toenail I made the decision to use the last of my mountain money at the rendezvous then head down and play around on the Volympics venue.
Overall an awesome day of skiing. Happened in the valley
Back in the village you could hear a pin drop.
Quite, almost too quiet. If Whistler had a monthly theme song it’d be the tune to the Movie “The Good the Bad and the Ugly”
Tomorrow -Clear and Warm.
Lots of sun and warmer temps- Hopefully the hill will turn slush before 3pm
