This sun is moving sideways...

Alaska is a spectacular place for a multitude of life changing activities.  Viewing sunsets however, was never high on my list of reasons to visit AK.  Until now that is.  With the sun descending at such a horizontal angle up there this time of year, sunsets last forever.

*NOTE:  Alyeska ski resort will be open every fri, sat, & sun in May for skiing and riding*

*NOTE:  Alyeska got 865” of snow this year…*

Example of a far northern sunset angle. This is from Finland at 60º N latitude. Anchorage is at 60º N lattitude

AK sunsets are at 10:15pm this time of year.  It’s often a bit cloudy up in that northern land.  But not this spring.  The weather has been obnoxiously nice every day since early March.

These photos were taken on April 25th just down the road from Alyeska ski resort in Alaska, U.S.A., right at the mouth of the Turnagain Arm.
