Tim Walton: For more than 10,000 years its peaks have inspired. Its beauty has refreshed. Its life, sustained. It was the summer home of the Washoe Indians for more than a hundred centuries. And fifty short years ago, against all odds, it played host to one of the greatest Winter Olympics in history.

Today it is simply known as Squaw.

Most people know of Squaw Valley’s world-class skiing. Many are aware of it’s Olympic heritage. But there is so much more to this incredible place than what is seen on its surface.
