The Chimney didn’t open today and for good reason. We were informed that “it looks miserable” by one Squaw freak. It did. Ice, hard snow, and avy debris made it extremely passable. The rest of the Palisades looked almost okay but there were very few takers.
Most of the boys were in Silverado. Silverado didn’t open yesterday so it was untouched…except for the numerous avalanches that peppered it’s landscape. Silvy had some fun spots and where it wasn’t good, it wasn’t that bad. It felt like big mountain skiing where you get some good turns, some icy turns, some crusty turns, a mini ice-fall or two and you were down.
