Chris Davenport and the luxury car maker Bentley have teamed up and made In Search of Snow. Combining mountaineers with Bentley is completely unexpected and I don’t know how effective the advertising will be. However Mr. Davenport is a household name and with the arty black and white editing it might just appeal to the 1%. I can tell you one thing we won’t see many mountain guides or ski bums in the Bently dealership.
You gotta admit that you’re jealous of this video. I mean how cool would it be to roll up in a Bentley and get picked up by a helicopter and go skiing … Not to mention test driving a Bentley over Dallas Divide and through the San Juans would be a dream come true.
This video did turn my wheels and take me to Bentley’s website (along with many other luxury car pages) and after 30 minutes of dreaming I bought two lotto tickets and went back to watching ski videos. BUT Bentley, along with other fancy car makers, are starting to produce more SUV like vehicles. Similar to the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5 Bentley is designing the EXP 9 F
“EXP 9 F had to represent the absolute pinnacle of the sport utility sector, setting a new benchmark for this type of vehicle. The style had to reflect Bentley’s sporting character despite its radically different package and purpose together with sculptured, flowing surfaces in keeping with the Bentley tradition.” –www.bentleymotors.com
