These chairlift things just won’t stay on anymore.

Bridger Bowl ski resort’s Schlasman chairlift derailed on Saturday.  The Schlasman chair is the best chair at Bridger as it brings you to the ridge where you access the best terrain at Bridger Bowl.

High winds caused the derailment.

Sensors on the chair were able to recognize the problem immediately following a powerful wind gust.

Patrol rope-monkied 60 lift passengers down from their chairs.  The lift was quickly repaired and operating again after 90 minutes.  Impressive work Bridger.

No injuries were reported.

This sounds like it wasn’t too big of a deal…but this still scares the piss out of us.  What do you guys think of all the chairlift issues this season?

Have you ever been on a chairlift that derailed or fell off or had a scary problem?
