The snow came in yesterday and needless to say it wasn’t the droids we were looking for, but it is a much needed change from the lack of precipitation.  It snowed anywhere from 2-4″ yesterday and we found a 8-12″ in places in the backcountry and higher peaks.

The snow got a nice recharge from the scraped ice, it looks soft and kinda is.  The canyon and gunners bowl had the best snow on the steeps where no one has skied all year.  Love the snowpack right now, features everywhere and cliffs, and trees oh my.

Overall the skiing is really good compared to not skiing.  Or compared to other silly things like spending the whole day shopping at the mall, waiting in line at the DMV, punching yourself in the junk, but really the turns are there to be had, you just need to search.  Visibility was poor most of the day, so hiking and skiing in the b.c. was challenging but if we can see then we got some new snow to ski!  PRAY FOR SNOW!
