The Pearl Street Meat and Fish Company is part restaurant, part butcher, and part grocer- and they do all very well. Starting with lunch, they have a variety of sandwiches, soups, and pre-made salads to choose from. If you’re a carnivore, try the grilled steak sandwich. On the vegetarian side of things the caprese is a local favorite.

The home made soups will warm up just about anybody on a cold day. There’s usually around six to choose from, that vary depending on the season. You can also go for the half salad and soup combo, which I think is the best value. Lunch for two will usually set you back about $20, which really isn’t too bad for Jackson.

Moving on to the meat department, I’m going to go ahead and claim that Pearl Street Meat and Fish has THE BEST fresh bacon in Jackson. It’s a big claim, but I’ve sampled various fresh cuts of swine from around town and I don’t thing there’s can be beat. Beyond their delicious bacon, Pearl Street has a selection of prime cuts that are tough to find at the larger grocery stores.

If you’re looking to buy in bulk or entertain a larger crowd at home, Pearl Street has you covered. They have a variety of platters that can be made up in advance. From cheese and fruit to wild tuna, Pearl Street has something for just about everybody. If you’re looking to grill, pick up one of their meat packs, which can serve just a group of friends or a small army. So, if you’re looking for lunch or to feed your family for a week (with bacon), check out Pearl Street Meat and Fish on, you guessed it, Pearl Street in downtown Jackson
