The Billabong Pro at the infamous Teahupoo in Tahiti is taking place as we speak. The first round took place a few days ago in overhead surf but there is still plenty to come.  With swell forecast showing a major push coming around New Zealand and arriving in Tahiti Thursday possibly lasting to Sunday.  This event will likely be the best stop on the ASP tour this year.  The past three days tour directors have called lay days for the event due to the anticipated large surf forecast predications and it’s still overhead and barreling!. It looks likely that the contest will pick back up Thursday or Friday with the arrival of the new swell and be EPIC to say the least.

I mean the best 32 surfers in the world, competing at one of the most picturesque and gnarly waves in the world with triple overhead surf! So what can you do since you can’t afford to fly to Tahiti and watch it on you ski bum salary?   Go to http://billabongpro.com/tahiti11/ and watch it on your computer live!!! They have been making the call whether or not to run the event at 7:00 am Tahitian time which translates to 11:00am MDT. So check it out on your lunch break or when your pretending to work /daydreaming.  It is better than playing Angry Birds.
