Sunshine and Sending in Catedral Side Country | Laguna August 14th, 2011

After a moderately large slog out of Little Alaska yesterday it was a bit on the difficult side to motivate.  But Laguna never fails to get the adrenaline pumping and the stoke up. SASS was in the top section of Laguna sending it off a jump that was way too huge, while we enjoyed the lower flanks, getting some very fun pow turns, a little air, and even hitting a few *unintentional* rocks.

The view from Nubes was perty good today!

Ash was looming off in the distance as the day began, but a favorable wind pushed it back to the Chilean side of things. With super cold overnight temperatures the snow was dry despite being  a bit on the wind-pressed side.  There is snow looming in the forecast for most parts of South America, and the pass to Chile is currently closed seeing too much snow.  After a late start ,the South America season is really starting to tee off!

Volcano still spewing the nastiness

Laguna in it's prime, and no one else out enjoying it!
