Buzz Aldrin stands on the moon saluting the American flag on July 20th, 1969.
We’ve gotta ask:
“What is your favorite moment in American History?  Let’s hear it.  We’ve got a good list below, but there have been so many great ones, we wanna hear which is yours.”
235 years after our Badass Forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence and gave Briton the finger, we are still here living it up in America. Granted, we’ve had our ups and downs, but I’d argue that we’ve had a lot more ups than downs.

Within those ups have been some incredible American moments:
(In no particular order, with Wikipedia links)
– July 4th, 1776: Signing of the Declaration of Independence (clearly the O.G. of the greatest American moments)
– July 20th, 1969: Americans land on the moon
– The “Eleventh hour of the Eleventh day of the Eleventh month” of 1918: Armistice Day/End of WWI
– May 7th, 1945: German surrenders to the Allies lead by the USA and WWII ends
– October 19, 1781: The Surrender of Cornwallis to Washington to end Revolutionary War
– August 26th, 1920: Women’s gain right to vote
– January 1st, 1863: Emancipation Proclamation
– November 4th, 2008:  Obama elected president (143 years earlier and he’d have been a slave in the USA)
– February 4th, 1980: Â Miracle on ice, USA defeats CCCP for Olympic Gold Medal in Hockey
– December 17th, 1903: First flight of a powered, controlled, heavier-than-air airplane by the Wright Brothers
– July 2nd, 1964: Â Civil Rights Act instated
– 1804-1806: Lewis & Clark Expedition
