Just recently Pete Huega passed away at a 102. He was Alex Cushing’s 2nd employee and Squaw’s 1st tram operator. Father to Jimmy Huega, bronze medal winner at the 1964 Olympics in Innsbruck in slalom. He left the Basque country, by himself, when he was 15, and ended up in California, met his wife, Lucille, and move to Tahoe in 1950. A great person and a good friend. Here is a photo of him boogieing it up in the early days in Tahoe.
