The other day we decided to tour out to Fissile Peak. Andrew Strain and I got up early for the last fresh tracks breakfast on Whistler Mountain, breakfast was packed to say the least. After a hearty breakfast (I think I ate 25 pieces of bacon) Andrew and I met up with the rest of our party and began out hike out to Flute under bluebird Skies. Once our group reached the Oboe summit the skies turned grey and the distant Fissile Peak was completely socked in. We began the steep skin up the South West face of Fissile but our skin soon turned into a full on climb up a scree field covered by a layer of corn snow. We reached the top of Banana Chute and decided to drop in due to weather and no visibility.
Three of us, including ripper chick Maddie Crowell, ventured into Psycho Chute. Psycho Chute is a narrow steep chute skiers left of the main Banana Chute. It has a rocky hair-ball entrance and some hidden sharks in the chute, but  yielded fun skiing.
We had lunch in the Russet Lake Hut and then began our skin home. Kyle brought a kite and was kite skiing past us as we were walking up hill. Kite skiing is SICK! While we were stuck skinning uphill Kyle was doing laps around us. The group made it back to Singing Pass and began the ski out via the Singing Pass trail. However Andrew Strain was stone cold set on “NOT” taking the Singing Pass trail out on a snowboard. Andrew decided to skin into the resort and we took the trail out. Andrew called me once I had returned home and informed me that he was still navigating back to the resort in a complete whiteout  via his iphone and his compass.
