I am out of town this week in Kirkwood and we are currently snowed in at The Meadows with 100+mph winds.  After scouring the internet for a short while, I think these events seem like the best options in SLC this week.

Friday Feb. 25thLinkin Park and Prodigy @ Energy Solutions – 7:30pm $40-$75

Linkin Park is cool and Prodigy is cool so together they should be really cool. Go tonight!

Saturday Feb. 26thLeftover Salmon @ The Depot @ 7:30pm

It’s been a spell since the pioneers of so-called “Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass” have come through town all together, the members spending much of the past few years working in various side projects. 2010 marked the band’s 20th anniversary, and they’re continuing the celebration with a run through their home state of Colorado, with a side-trip to Utah for a gig sure to be full of their jazz, bluegrass, funk, folk and, yes, Cajun influences.

Sunday Feb. 27th Guttermouth @ Burt’s Tiki Lounge @ 9:00pm

Guttermouth is a classic punk band and they are still punking out hard. Burt’s is a great venue to see a band that can rock your face off. Have fun at this one.

Sunday Feb. 27thPeaceful Uprising Concert @ The Urban Lounge @ 9:00pm

Dirty Hippy, Peace Hippy, Silly Hippy

The Uprising Summit arrives in Salt Lake City this week with two days full of activities designed to empower people to expand their personal and political power, and to support Tim DeChristopher as he trial gets ready to start on Monday. After all the workshops, discussions and activities, even political activists like to cut loose a little, and they’ll have their chance Sunday night with this acoustic-centric bill.

Sunday Feb. 27th – Dyson Styles @ Wiseguys (Trolley Square) @ 7:00pm

Dyson is a Brooklyn guy who has lived in Utah for many years. He has opened for big names like Eddie Griffin and Norm MacDonald, so you know he is mad funny. Check it out at the Trolley zone.
