Skipping skiing is never a good idea, but some people thought that it would be a smart to take Sunday off to watch football, or go to church, or do some other silly thing. These people made a huge mistake, as Sunday was my favorite day of the year so far.

After crushing a few runs in Mineral in the early AM and sticking the top shelf of Death Chute for the first time in a few years I settled in to watch some North Face Masters action. The boys and girls did not disappoint. The conditions on Baldy were optimal and the one plankers rode harder than I had ever seen them ride before. Aaron Robinson was lightning and silky smooth, as was Ralph Backstrom and our local lady Kaitlin Elliott. Check out the video Here. Also props out to Robert Hurley for showing everyone what is possible and winning the first ever Sick Board Award. They had to invent it for him, because he did some things that have not been seen before on the North Face Masters Tour.

Today was like a carbon copy of yesterday with slightly more firm snow. The lift lines have been short lately because the holidays are finally over, thank god someone goes to church to pray for these things to end. The sun is staying higher in the sky and visibility is the best it has been all season. Life is good!
