Welp, just as always, Juneary has arrived with light drizzle and warm temps. Once again we digress to skiing ice and slush, groomers and bumps, park and pipe directly after skiing whatever the hell we wanted to for 6 weeks. The last time we got measurable precipitation was January 1st. So it’s already been 12 days since our last snowfall. Now we are looking at at least 10 more days without snow. DO THE MATH HUMANS!!!! That’s 22 days without snow. FML.
I’m trying not to overreact, but it’s tough given what we’d all gotten used to this year. It was silly. We all missed powder days just because we were too tired. That’s it for me, tho…I’m NEVER missing another powder day again!
Check out what Tahoe Weather Discussion is saying:
The snowpack currently sits around 198% of average in the Tahoe Basin for this time of year.
We will warm a little into the 40′s for about 7 days and then and Arctic from will make its way in by next Wednesday.
I know you are all dying for the next big dump as the readership has gone up the past 2 days. That means we are at the point where everyone has had enough sun and is looking for any sign of snow. Unfortunately I don’t have what you want to hear over the next 10 days.
“They” are forecasting the we start getting absolutely dumped on starting around Jan 23rd. That would be good, but like a kid 10 days out from Christmas, I have no idea if I’ll make it that long or if that amount of time can ever be surpassed.
