If restaurants or brew pubs aren’t your thing, you’ve got to check out Harvest Market on the Mountain Road in Stowe. They offer a ton of amazing food, including delicious baked goodies that are made daily. From their home-made entrees to their fresh baked bread, most of the stuff in the store is made there (amazing Cinnamon Rolls!). You can’t say that about too many places nowadays. Harvest Market would classify as one of those “specialty” gourmet shops, BUT their prices don’t reflect that. For the Stowe area, it is quite affordable, especially for us ski/snowboard bums on a budget. They’ve got some awesome grab-and-go sandwiches / breakfast sandwiches that will keep your stomach happy all day at the mountain. Also, if you are into Pies (not Pizza), Harvest Market is the place to be! They’ve got some of the best Apple Pie going! NO LIE!
Harvest Market also carries a wide variety of beverages. From Vermont Apple Cider to a vast selection of Wine and Beer, this is a “one-stop shop” for your way to or from the mountain. All of the employees are very welcoming and friendly and are glad to help you out (multiple people asked me if I needed assistance). They’ve got a little sitting area too, so you won’t have to eat on the road. The other really cool thing about Harvest Market is that you can actually watch the bakers make the bread in the bread ovens located in the back of the store. Most of the time, the smell of fresh bread will make you want to sit and enjoy your food or beverage. It’s got a great vibe and I definitely encourage everyone to stop by!
