Since it’s late April, we figure it’s a good time to bring up the National Park Service‘s great PSA on wildlife safety. It’s simple, funny, and yet extremely effective. Here’s the gist: DON’T TOUCH THE WILDLIFE. DON’T GET CLOSE TO THE WILDLIFE. RESPECT THE WILDLIFE.

Most people who follow us probably know not to screw with wildlife. Let this be a reminder to remind your friends. If your dumba** friend says they’re headed to Yellowstone this summer, show them this graphic! If your moronic cousin says they can’t wait to pet some elk in Rocky Mountain National Park this summer, show them this graphic!

It really is such a simple concept, and yet people fail to follow it. All the time. Every year. Don’t approach animals, don’t pet animals, don’t feed animals. Print out this graphic and keep it on you if you think you’ll need the reminder.

This message is not for those followers who know what’s up and would never dream of getting too close to wildlife on purpose. Thanks for leading by example! Think of this as a message to share with others you know heading out to a park. “Vacation brain” sometimes takes over, and people may let their guard down, or get taken in by bear’s ears and other cuddly thoughts, only to have a less than pleasant experience in nature. It happens. Every year.
