Mt. Bachelor, OR will open a walk up jib park this weekend after an early season snowstorm dropped over a foot of fresh. Access to the park will be free, but the resort asks you to enjoy at your own risk and to please not go, “looking for other places around the resort to fulfill your jibbing desires.”

Official Message from Mt. Bachelor:

THIS WEEKEND’S PLAN
For the weekend of September 23-24: After a closure day on Friday to prepare the mountain, Mt. Bachelor will be open for unique “snowseeing” chairlift rides Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Chairlift rides will be for foot-passengers only this weekend. Skis, snowboards and bikes will not be allowed on the chairlift.

Our Terrain Park crew will put a few features in a designated zone in the tubing area for those of you who want to come up for some early ski/snowboard park action. We know that any time there is snow on the ground there are those who will do anything to find something to jib on, so we thought we would save you the time. This is a free, walk up park for you to enjoy at your own risk. Please use this area instead of looking for other places around the resort to fulfill your jibbing desires. We are not sure how long the snow will last, so this may only be available through Saturday.

Mountain biking will not be offered this weekend due to snow covering the trails, but with warmer weather in the forecast, we are optimistic that we can resume bike operations next weekend.

We invite you to read more about this weekend’s plan in this letter from John McLeod, Mt. Bachelor’s general manager.
