Dmitri Pajitnov (Dima), a resident of South Lake Tahoe and ski patroller for Heavenly Mountain Resort, passed away this month on Mt. Rainier.
Dmitri’s is remembered by his friends and family as an outdoorsman who loved his life in the mountains.
Dmitri had been attending medical school. After completing his first year, Dmitri returned to South Lake Tahoe to get in as much skiing as possible. He was on his way back to school when he stopped by Mt. Rainier, to get in one last ski day of the season. On July 3, 2017 tragedy struck when he fell through a 5-foot snow-bridge and into an icy creek. He was 30 year-old at the time of death.
A celebration of life for Dmitri Pajitnov will be held on July 18 at 5pm at Lakeside Beach House Grill.
