As someone who used to live in Jackson, I don’t know why Snow King Mountain doesn’t see more traffic.

It’s a rad, cheap, and surprisingly steep ski hill that boasts north facing pow stashes and awesome groomers right above the town of Jackson. And on those special nights when a valley storm crushes “The King” you can have night skiing sessions that rival Japan.

“The forecast is looking pretty wild, the King might be directly in line of atmospheric river, let’s hope that we stay on the northern side of this warm blob of heavy precipitation. This could be a nightmare rain storm for California ski resorts, but here in Wyoming it’s illegal to rain in January, so we shouldn’t have to worry. There is plenty of snow in the forecast for the entire next week, so hopefully 6 to 12 feet isn’t too much to ask for? Okay how about we just get 4 feet? Deal.” – Snow King Mountain Unofficial Snow Report

Seems as though my enthusiasm has been matched and exceeded by a “Unofficial” snow reporter who is a diehard fan of The King. The reports he’s giving are absolutely hilarious for anyone who lives on the Wyoming side of the pass. Check em out here.
