Screen shot 2016-07-17 at 3.57.42 PM30 year old Swedish freeskier, Matilda Rapaport, was on her first ski shoot in Chile when she was buried by an avalanche outside Santiago, Chile in the Farrellones mountains according to aftonbladet.se.  The accident happened last Thursday but news of it was only recently reported.

It took time to find her but once she was located she was rushed to a hospital in Santiago. The total elapsed time between burial and arrival a the hospital was 90 minutes.

She did not show any outward signs of injury but suffered from lack of oxygen. Doctors put her into an induced coma and she is on a heart and lung machine in intensive care.

We are all pulling super hard for Matilda and send our thoughts and prayers to Chile.
