Is it just me… or are the snow forecasts in Chile out of control this year? With previous forecasts calling for 20 ft. in places like Valle Nevado, I don’t know what to believe out of the southern hemisphere, let alone resort snow reports.
That said, after a slow start to the season, Chile is firing on all cylinders and is having one of the best years this decade. From El Colorado to Valle Nevado to Portillo (especially Portillo), Chile is back on track and social media is blowing up with pow slash pics that are making my mouth water during these dog days of summer.
First let’s start with Portillo, where the Superstars Camp is letting everyone know what they are missing right now. Here is Chris Anthony at the Shane McConkey memorial in Portillo, where he helped Shane start the camp some 12 years ago.

Also in town are Outside Magazine editor Grayson Schaffer and Salomon athlete Kalen Thorien, whose photographs are making me a very jealous man right now.
Also, don’t forget the likes of Chris Davenport, Ian Mcintosh, and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, who are all getting powder in and around their faces at the Chilean ski resort. You bastards!
So instead of looking at snow reports from South America, just stick to the Instagram if you want to up your FOMO.
