Copper Mountain plans to break ground this summer on a new lift to the top of Tucker Mountain. The new “Tucker Lift” will access terrain that had been accessible via a free snowcat from the base of the Mountain Chief Lift.
Feelings are mixed about the new lift since the cat ride and short hike up the ridge limited the number of skiers and riders taking advantage of the terrain.
The revised plans for the Tucker Lift have it starting near the base of the Blackjack Lift before rising above 12,300 feet to Tucker Mountain’s peak.
