October Skiing at Killington

Killington, Vermont officially kicked off the 2013-2014 winter ski season this weekend with the opening of over 1 mile of ski runs. On Friday, the resort opened to season pass and express card holders with a full opening to the general public on Saturday. Early season conditions were in full effect but there was some good October skiing to be had.

Official Update From Killington.com:

Updated 4:00 p.m. 10/27/13–The Beast doesn’t make excuses, just snow. Our snowmakers and their big guns are back on the job tonight.

For Monday, the K-1 Express Gondola will provide uploading and downloading from 9:00 a.m-3:30 p.m. The North Ridge Triple will provide access to up to five trails. Skiers and riders will use the Peak Walkway to get back to the K-1 Express Gondola for downloading back to the base area.

Great Northern will be open providing access to Rime, Reason and Upper Double Dipper. Check out the three park features on Reason. Plus, stay tuned as there is the possibility of additional trails opening as we lay down some more machine made snow as conditions permit.

Early season conditions exist. Skiing and riding will be on advanced terrain only and snowmaking may be in progress throughout the day. No easier terrain will be available at this time.
