My esteemed colleague Mr. Smails seems to have discovered a popular stunt in the utterly frigid and incredibly boring corners of the midwest (I am guessing from the activities that only come from a combination of cold and boredom; and hockey helmets). I say popular because here is another very similar video with similar results and similar poor calculations. Maybe because it is the same people, but who am I to say that two people with the same tattoos, same helmet, same appearance, and same dumb ideas are really the same person?
So, for now I will generalize that everyone in the midwest (my already speculative and generalized location) does this for fun.
