Snow Park Technologies (SPT) has already put Squaw back on the Sick Terrain Parks Map by getting Squaw the Cover of the October Freeskier Magazine, 2011.
The cover is actually kinda crappy as they decided to have Simon right in the letter I of the word Freeskier creating almost no contrast so you can’t hardly even see him nor what he’s doing.
This cover is the Red Bull Cubed Halfpipe at Squaw Valley from May 2011. Â We watched it live at Squaw and it was unreal with the heli swooping each time he took a run. Check out this video and see how hard Simon gets wrecked.
Squaw just hired SPT to build their terrain parks this coming winter and us Squaw Vallites are more than just a bit pumped for this. Squaw literally had NO HALFPIPE and no single park jump over 20’ long last year.  We really haven’t had a good Park/Pipe since the days of the Mainline Pipe/Park in 2005.
Unofficial Video of Simon hitting the Cubed Pipe at Squaw showing Heli/Skier interaction.
Even in the days of the Mainline park/pipe the thing wouldn’t get built until the end of February.
This coming year I’m guessing that SPT will be on it and get us rolling right outta the gate…which is nice.
