Madison, New Hampshire — New leadership at a New Hampshire resort with a small ski area aims to make it an even stronger four-season destination.
Last week, Purity Spring Resort announced a new leadership structure. Ali Hoyt will serve as the manager partner for hospitality and strategy. She co-founded Larkspur Hospitality Consulting, which helps hotels with data. Paul J. Morra will become managing partner of development, design, and brand. Paul is a two-time Emmy Award-winning producer. He co-founded Swift River Productions, which has done work with brands like Microsoft and the NFL. They join the managing partners in the push for future developments, who include Steven Hoyt and Andrew Mahoney.
This move is part of Purity Spring Resort’s plan to grow King Pine Ski Area. For short-term projects, they’re eyeing snowmaking enhancements, tavern renovations, new guest lockers, and more. Further out, their future plan includes expanding the trail network and building a base lodge with space for live music and events. It’s unclear from the trail expansion whether they’re looking to grow the alpine or Nordic trails. The goal is to complete these projects by 2030.
On the lodging side, The Inn at Purity Spring Resort underwent fall renovations. After that, guest room renovations and the Traditions restaurant are planned.
About King Pine Ski Area
Situated in Madison, King Pine Ski Area is part of the Purity Spring Resort. The ski area has 17 trails, 6 lifts, and a 350-foot vertical drop. One of my favorite facts about King Pine is that some of the old lifts come from the shuttered King Ridge ski area in New London, New Hampshire. Over the past few years, they’ve offered heavily discounted $4 lift tickets.
Off-slope activities include snow tubing, ice skating, Nordic ski trails, and snowshoeing. In the summertime, Purity Spring Resort offers activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking, waterskiing, disc golf, and more.
