Great news for all you Oregon skiers and snowboarders looking to gear up for winter without destroying your bank account.

Snowvana is returning to the Portland Expo Center October 23-25 for its 10th anniversary sale, bringing thousands of discounted skis, snowboards, boots and outerwear, along with ski resort deals, film premieres, live music and even a chance to try your hand at the ancient art of sumo wrestling.

Presented by Toyota, the three day event is the second stop on Snowvana’s four-city 2026 tour, which kicked off last weekend in Seattle with a bang.

Portland is the Snowvana’s flagship location and they are fired up to celebrate a decade of bringing together the Pacific Northwest ski and snowboard community under one roof.

This year’s event includes an expanded gear sale, a public consignment swap benefiting the Mt. Hood Meadows Race Team, and the return of the popular Cream of the Swap section, where a limited selection of premium equipment will be discounted by as much as 80%.

Cream of the Swap Offers Premium Ski Gear at 40-80% Off

For serious deal hunters, the biggest attraction may be Snowvana’s Cream of the Swap, a carefully curated selection of high-end skis, snowboards and apparel offered at exceptionally steep discounts.

The inventory includes new and barely used demo skis and snowboards, along with brand-new apparel from major manufacturers. Snowvana advertises everything in the premium section will be priced 40% to 80% below retail. Quantities are limited, and all items are sold on a first come, first served basis so plan on showing up early. If you want to get an idea of what deals you will can snap up, check out the Cream of the Swap Inventory List to see what equipment will be available before the doors open.

The rest of the gear sale will feature thousands of new, discontinued and gently used products discounted by as much as 70%. Local retailers Hillcrest Ski and Sport, Foster Outdoor, Gorge Performance, PTO Ski, Mountain Shop and Next Adventure will be on hand with equipment and event specific pricing.

New Public Ski Swap Benefits Mt. Hood Meadows Race Team

Another addition for Portland’s 10th anniversary is a public consignment swap that allows local skiers and snowboarders to sell their own equipment. The swap benefits the Mt. Hood Meadows Race Team, giving participants a way to clear out their closets while supporting local ski racing. MRT will be at the show so make sure to stop by and say hello.

“What we accept: Skis, snowboards, ski boots, and snowboard boots only — up to 5 items per consigner, 5 years old or newer.” -Snowvana

Anyone interested in selling equipment can register through the Snowvana consignment program. Consignors will also receive a complimentary admission ticket.

Ski Resort Deals, Free Lift Tickets and a New Sumo Wrestling Bowl

Snowvana is more than a gear sale. The festival brings resort representatives from across the Western United States, Canada and Japan to Portland, giving attendees opportunities to explore winter destinations and find discounts on lift tickets and lodging.

Participating resorts include Mt. Hood Meadows, Mt. Bachelor, Crystal Mountain, Big White, Willamette Pass and Japan’s Rusutsu Resort. Willamette Pass will also provide complimentary tickets to attendees.

The entertainment lineup includes films from the iF3 International Freesports Film Festival, with a curated selection of ski and snowboard films screening throughout the weekend. The screenings are included with admission.

One of the more unusual additions for 2026 is the debut of the Sumo Wrestling Bowl, an inflatable arena where participants can climb into oversized sumo suits and compete against one another.

The festival will also feature the Atomic Frozen T-Shirt Contest, a Pray for Snow Dance Contest, live music, Indy Pass giveaways and après-ski gathering areas.

Friday night serves as the official winter kickoff party, with special gear deals, film premieres and entertainment.

Snowvana founder Doug Fish says the festival has always been about more than finding cheap equipment. The goal is to connect skiers and snowboarders directly with the people who make winter recreation possible, something he calls “A.I. Authentic Interaction.”
