Brian Head Resort in southern Utah is expanding its ski and snowboard lesson offerings for the 2026–27 winter season, introducing new instruction options and more daily start times while lowering the barrier to entry for spring skiing.
The redesigned program features group lessons starting at $59 throughout March and April, along with new one-hour private lessons, nighttime instruction and specialized programs for young skiers. The changes are intended to accommodate more guests who want to learn or improve their skills.
More Lesson Times and New Options
Brian Head is replacing its previous 2.5-hour group lessons with two-hour sessions, increasing the number of daily group and private lesson start times from two to three. That represents a 50% increase in daily start times.
“We want more people to have the chance to learn, whether they’re trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time or looking to improve a particular skill.” – Pierre Beney, manager of the resort’s Winter Sports School.
Adult group lessons for guests ages 13 and older will be available in two- and four-hour formats, with two-hour sessions starting at $59 in March and April. Youth group lessons for children ages 7 to 12 will offer two-, four- and six-hour options, with two-hour sessions starting at $109.
Private instruction is also expanding. New one-hour and four-hour options join existing two-hour and six-hour lessons. One-hour private lessons start at $139 for children ages 3 to 6 and $149 for guests ages 7 and older. Private lessons for older guests can accommodate up to six people, with additional guests costing $79 each.
Night Skiing and Programs for Young Learners
The resort is adding two-hour private lessons during night skiing on select nights. Instruction will be available for all ability levels on terrain served by Chair 3 and the beginner conveyor belt.
Another new offering, Tiny Tracks, targets children ages 5 to 8 who can already make controlled turns and safely ride chairlifts. The small-group program is limited to three children per lesson and is designed to help young skiers advance to more challenging terrain.
First-time skiers and snowboarders ages 13 and older can also take advantage of free two-hour introductory group lessons on select dates. Lesson prices and availability vary, and lift tickets and equipment rentals are sold separately. Advance reservations are recommended.
Brian Head Resort is scheduled to open November 6, weather permitting. Advance-purchase lift tickets start at $9 on select dates, while children 12 and younger can ski free all season through the Power Kids Pass, with no purchase required or blackout dates.
